Lapid: There is no benefit from the war for the State of Israel now
SadaNews - Israeli opposition leader Yair Lapid confirmed that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is placing obstacles to reaching an agreement.
He added: "Netanyahu considers our presence in the Mourag axis now to be a cornerstone for the survival of Israel, even though it was a tactical operational step."
He said: "We decided to establish an axis between Rafah and Khan Younis 'Mourag'; this was a decision made in the field, but is it logical to think that this will determine the fate of the prisoners buried underground? Suddenly, the Mourag axis has become the rock of our existence?"
He continued: "I hope that yesterday's meeting between Netanyahu and Trump will lead to the finalization of a prisoner exchange deal because the U.S. administration is interested in that."
Lapid affirmed: "There is no benefit from the war for the State of Israel now."
