The White House: Trump Will Discuss Ceasefire Proposal and Other Issues with Netanyahu

SadaNews - The White House stated on Monday evening that U.S. President Donald Trump will discuss the proposed ceasefire and other issues with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, emphasizing that the "top priority" for the U.S. President is to end the war in Gaza and secure the return of Israeli hostages held in the region.

The spokesperson for the White House mentioned that "the proposed ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas will be discussed with Netanyahu," indicating that Trump will discuss this "along with other issues".

The White House added: "We hope Hamas will agree to the ceasefire proposal and the hostages will be returned," noting that "President Trump's priority is to end the war in Gaza and return all hostages".

It was noted that U.S. envoy Steve Witkoff "will head to Doha later this week to discuss the ceasefire in Gaza".

In light of the ongoing massacres committed by the Israeli army in Gaza, the White House stated that "the war must end, and Hamas must accept the proposal, and Israel has the right to defend itself".

The White House further stated that "Trump considers ending the war in Gaza a top priority".

It indicated that the U.S. President had "discussed the reconstruction of Gaza, not controlling it".

It was mentioned that "the Qataris and Egyptians have been useful partners in mediating peace talks and ending the conflict in Gaza".

Israeli reports indicated on Sunday that the U.S. President wants to agree with the Israeli Prime Minister on the terms for ending the war in Gaza, citing U.S. officials that the issue of the "day after" the war in Gaza "will be central in their meeting".

Reports also mentioned that this issue had already been raised in discussions held by Strategic Affairs Minister Ron Dermer at the White House last week with U.S. envoy Steve Witkoff and other senior U.S. officials.

Furthermore, Israeli analysts on Monday painted a similar expected scene for the content of the meeting between U.S. President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House tomorrow evening, suggesting that the latter will have to choose between continuing the war on Gaza or reshaping the Middle East and enhancing the status of its countries, with Israel at the forefront.
