Katz Reveals Plan to Create a Humanitarian City in Rafah and Isolate Its Inhabitants
Translation by SadaNews - Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz revealed on Monday evening that he instructed the general director of his ministry to prepare a plan to establish a humanitarian city in southern Gaza on the ruins of Rafah to accommodate 600,000 Palestinians from the Mawasi area.
Katz explained in a press briefing, as translated by SadaNews, that this city will be managed by foreign entities, and Palestinians will not be allowed entry before being screened, and they will be prevented from leaving later on.
He indicated that the Israeli army will carry out security for the area remotely, stating that preparations to start its construction will begin, if possible, during a ceasefire that is looming on the horizon.
He noted that 4 additional humanitarian aid centers will be opened, bringing the total to 8.
Katz pointed out that his forces will soon achieve operational control over about 70 percent of Gaza's territory.
He said: Our forces occupy lands in Gaza without endangering the lives of the hostages.
