Occupation Army: We Launched Operation "Black Flag" to Punish the Houthis in Yemen

SadaNews - Israeli occupation Minister of Defense Yoav Galant announced today, Monday, the launch of Operation "Black Flag" against the "Ansar Allah" Houthi group in Yemen.

Galant stated: "The Israeli army is conducting Operation Black Flag to punish the Houthis," in airstrikes on Houthi ports and a power station in Yemen.

The army said in a statement: "The army attacked targets belonging to the terrorist Houthi regime in the ports of Hodeidah, Ras Issa, and Salif, along with the electricity station at Ras Khatnub."

The statement added: "Dozens of warplanes, directed by intelligence from the intelligence agency and the navy, attacked and destroyed infrastructure belonging to the terrorist Houthi regime. Among the targeted infrastructure were the ports of Hodeidah, Ras Issa, and Salif," adding that "the Houthi regime uses these ports to transport weaponry from the Iranian regime that is used to promote terrorist schemes against the State of Israel and its allies."

The statement emphasized that "these airstrikes came in light of repeated attacks carried out by the terrorist Houthi regime against the State of Israel, its citizens, and its civilian infrastructure, which includes launching drones and ground-to-ground missiles towards its territory."

The occupation army pointed out that "the Houthi regime exploits the maritime domain to assert power and carry out terrorist attacks against shipping and trade vessels in the area of international navigation, where the targeted objectives demonstrate how the terrorist Houthi regime uses civilian infrastructure for terrorist purposes."

Notably, "among the targets that were bombed in the port of Ras Issa was a commercial vessel, GALAXY LEADER, which was seized by the Houthis in November 2023, where Houthi elements placed a radar system on board the ship and used it to monitor maritime vessels in international waters to promote terrorist activities. The electricity station in Ras Khatnub, which the Houthi regime used as a main infrastructure for integrating electricity into its military activities, was also targeted."

According to the army: "The Houthi regime acts as a central arm for the Iranian regime, receiving funding and weaponry for its activities and is considered a partner in Iranian terrorist activities around the world. The Defense Army is determined to continue acting and to strike hard against anyone who threatens the citizens of the State of Israel, no matter the distance."
