The European Union Launches a $1 Billion Aid Initiative for Gaza
SadaNews - The European Commission announced on Monday that it has launched an initiative with 15 partners to provide aid to the Gaza Strip amounting to €883.6 million ($1 billion), according to the Reuters agency.
It added that the 'Gaza Team Initiative,' which was launched during the 'Palestine Donors' Group' meeting in Brussels, will support ongoing and planned early recovery projects for the benefit of the residents of Gaza.
The Commission clarified that 12 European countries and Japan joined the initiative, along with the World Bank and the European Investment Bank.
