The Death Toll from the Earthquakes in Venezuela Rises to Nearly 1,500
SadaNews - Rescue teams in Venezuela continued their search for survivors under the rubble following the powerful earthquakes that struck Venezuela days ago, as the death toll approached 1,500.
Foreign rescue teams have been deployed to La Guaira state, which is the most affected area due to the two consecutive earthquakes that occurred last Wednesday just 39 seconds apart, with the first measuring 7.2 on the Richter scale and the second measuring 7.5.
The coastal state, located about 40 kilometers north of the capital Caracas, witnessed the collapse of dozens of buildings, which have turned into heaps of rubble and debris.
