Statement Issued by the Banks Association in Palestine Regarding the Incident of Burning a Bank Branch in the Dahia Area - Jerusalem
SadaNews: The Banks Association in Palestine strongly condemns the incident of burning one of the bank branches operating in the Dahia area - Jerusalem, considering it a criminal act that is rejected as it contradicts the national and moral values of our Palestinian people, and constitutes a direct attack on a national institution that plays a pivotal role in serving citizens and enhancing their economic steadfastness in Jerusalem.
The association affirms that this assault is a source of grave concern, as it involves a threat to the existence of the banking sector and causes damage to a banking institution that is an essential part of the national economic system, contributing to the provision of vital financial services and supporting and enhancing the resilience of our people in Jerusalem.
It added: "Targeting banks and financial institutions does not only impact a specific entity but undermines national efforts aimed at establishing a safe and stable environment that promotes development and steadfastness in the face of challenges."
In this context, the association calls for concerted legal, official, and community efforts to pursue those involved in this assault and to prevent the recurrence of such illegal acts, ensuring the protection of banking and financial institutions and safeguarding public and private property, while addressing all attempts to harm national institutions, in order to preserve the security and stability of the community and its economic capabilities.
The association appreciates the responsible stance of Jerusalem's families, their unequivocal rejection of these assaults, and their condemnation of them, affirming the importance of this community role in protecting national institutions and enhancing awareness of the importance of the rule of law, contributing to safeguarding the security and stability of the community.
The association concluded its statement by saying: "May God protect Palestine and safeguard its national institutions from all harm."
