Palestine Insurance Company Condemns the Position and Policy of the Pharmacists' Syndicate
SadaNews - The Palestine Insurance Company condemned the statement issued by the Palestinian Pharmacists' Syndicate regarding the cessation of pharmacies' dealings with the health insurance services provided by the Palestine Insurance Company, as this harms the interests of contractors and beneficiaries of insurance services.
The company stated: This statement from the syndicate contradicts the agreements concluded between the Federation of Insurance Companies and the Pharmacists' Syndicate that were sponsored by the Palestinian Capital Market Authority. This indicates their lack of respect for the agreements made regarding this matter, knowing that Palestine Insurance Company has expressed its willingness to settle any claims received from the syndicate immediately through the President of the Palestinian Federation of Insurance Companies, Mr. Anwar Al-Shanty, and the General Director of the Insurance Control Authority, Mr. Amjad Quba, who in turn informed the syndicate and requested them to provide them with the lists if available. However, unfortunately, before providing either them or us with these lists, which they claim are overdue, the syndicate issued its statement to cease dealings with Palestine Insurance Company without respecting the efforts we made to regulate the relationship.
Furthermore, we at Palestine Insurance Company view this behavior as personal responses that are far from the professionalism required under these circumstances that our dear people are suffering. We see this action as primarily directed against the position of Palestine Insurance Company and the federation's rejection of the multiple statements issued by the syndicate recently to insurance companies, in which it sought to raise drug prices by canceling contractual discounts and amending previously agreed conditions, which would create a monopolistic system that would harm Palestinian companies and institutions. Otherwise, what justifies this action after Palestine Insurance Company's readiness to settle any claims if they exist? It is worth mentioning that despite the difficult conditions, Palestine Insurance Company has effectively paid pharmacies operating during the years 2025/2026 more than 24,000,000 shekels.
Palestine Insurance Company, which includes in its insurance portfolio the largest companies benefiting from health insurance services, confirms that we are keen to ensure the provision of the best services for our valued insured clients, and all matters will be arranged in a way that guarantees them receiving the required services without making them a target for the exploitation of those opportunists who take advantage of the difficult circumstances facing the Palestinian economy.
