Ministry of Economy Seizes Adulterated Olive Oil in Hebron and Nablus
SadaNews - The Consumer Protection teams affiliated with the Ministry of National Economy in Hebron have apprehended a street vendor selling olive oil as if it were from this season's production, while in reality, it is adulterated.
Ibrahim Al-Qadi, the General Director of the General Administration for Consumer Protection in the ministry, indicated that the counterfeiter from Jenin was caught during the sale of this oil in Hebron, and it was found after sensory inspection that the oil was mixed with other vegetable oils, exploiting citizens' needs by claiming it was oil from this season's production.
Al-Qadi mentioned that the case file has been referred to the Public Prosecution for the Fight Against Economic Crimes to take the necessary legal action, and investigations are ongoing with the counterfeiter to uncover the details of the forgery process and ensure the market is free from this oil.
In Nablus, as part of the joint efforts between the Directorate of National Economy in Tulkarem and Nablus, in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture Directorate in Nablus, a quantity of adulterated olive oil was seized after conducting the necessary laboratory tests in the Agriculture Laboratory.
The ministry stated in its statement that the case file has been referred to the Public Prosecution for the Fight Against Economic Crimes for necessary legal action against him.
The ministry urged citizens to purchase oil from trusted sources and report any complaints through the "Bhimna" portal.
