The Illusion of "Greater Israel"
Netanyahu and the leaders of the Zionist right speak of "Greater Israel" as if it were a reality, showcasing maps in public that display the borders of this imaginary state, which has never existed throughout history.
While we understand Zionism's promotion of this illusion as part of a policy of intimidation and brainwashing of the region's peoples, aiming to pull them away from supporting the just cause of Palestine and accepting Israeli policies, what is incomprehensible or unacceptable is the belief of some (Arabs and Muslims) in this illusion, and their state of terror and submission, to the extent that some relate to their connection with the Palestinian cause as if it were a sinking ship, with the "smart" one being the one who saves themselves and jumps off.
The exaggeration and fearmongering surrounding "Greater Israel", which has no historical foundation, also contradicts reality and international law; as the targeted states have their sovereignty, peoples, and interests, not to mention the impossibility of achieving this project for practical reasons.
Zionism, which bases its claim on interpretations of their sacred "Torah", has not been able to establish a state for three thousand years, and only became a reality after the issuance of the British "Balfour Declaration" in 1917 and Western support for Zionism, allowing them to establish their entity on a part of the land of Palestine in 1948, with direct support from Britain which was occupying Palestine; without Britain, their state would not have come into existence. Even the continued existence of this small state would not have been possible without full support and patronage from Washington and the West, as demonstrated in the recent war on the fronts of Gaza, Lebanon, and Iran; without direct American military intervention, matters would have taken a different turn and there would not have been this Israeli chaos.
So, how can an entity that couldn’t establish a pure Jewish state on the land of Palestine (which covers an area of 27 thousand square kilometers) because of the presence of 7 million Palestinians who constitute half of the population of Israel, expand beyond it in an Arab world with a population of around 400 million and an area of approximately 14 million square kilometers? Will it occupy the lands of Arab countries, or will it be satisfied with subjugating them politically? And if it does not occupy the lands of Egypt, Syria, Lebanon, and Jordan, how will the alleged Israel "from the Nile to the Euphrates" come into being?
In summary, Israel is experiencing an existential crisis that it is trying to escape through pointless wars and Biblical illusions. Even if it achieves military successes, it cannot guarantee that the balance of power will favor it indefinitely, especially with ballistic missile technology becoming accessible to everyone, and perhaps the same will apply to nuclear weapons in the future.
