Election Commission: Opening of online registration for new voters in preparation for legislative elections
SadaNews - The Central Elections Commission announced today that the online registration for new voters is open through its website www.elections.ps, calling on citizens who are 17 years old and above to promptly register their names in the voter registry, as registration is one of the essential conditions for participating in the upcoming legislative elections. They confirmed that the registration procedures are easy and quick, taking only a few minutes.
The Commission clarified that the electronic registration is intended for citizens who are not registered in the voter registry, while requests for data updates, change of residence address, or change of polling station will only be accepted in person at registration centers that will be opened in all cities, villages, and refugee camps in the West Bank from August 15 to 19.
They emphasized that registration in the voter registry is a basic requirement for participation in the elections, whether as a voter or a candidate.
Regarding citizens in the Gaza Strip and the city of Jerusalem, the Commission stressed that their right to run and vote is guaranteed and does not require registration in the voter registry, assuring that they will announce later the mechanisms and procedures for their participation in the electoral process.
