Al-Rajoub: Presidential Elections Must Be Held Before Legislative Elections
SadaNews - Member of the Central Committee of the "Fatah" movement, Major General Jibril al-Rajoub, stated that presidential elections must be held before moving towards legislative elections.
Al-Rajoub called for consensus on a national figure with everyone as it is less costly and more significant for national legitimacy.
He added: Our system is presidential and not parliamentary, and therefore presidential elections should take place first, followed by legislative elections, and work should be done to reorganize the Palestine Liberation Organization, then agree on a complete political roadmap.
He expressed hope that the elections would take place on schedule, while questioning the success of holding them.
He considered the postponement of the 2021 elections the biggest strategic mistake in the history of the Palestinians.
