Election Committee: Electronic Registration for New Voters Opened in Preparation for Legislative Elections
SadaNews - The Central Election Commission announced today, Tuesday, that the electronic registration for new voters is open through its website www.elections.ps, calling on citizens who have completed 17 years or more to register their names in the voters' register, as registration is one of the essential conditions for participating in the upcoming legislative elections. The committee emphasized that the registration process is easy and quick, taking only a few minutes.
The committee explained that electronic registration is designated for citizens not registered in the voters' register, while requests for updating information, transferring residence address, or changing polling place will only be received on-site through registration centers that will open in all cities, villages, and camps in the West Bank from August 15 to 19.
It affirmed that registration in the voters' register is a prerequisite for participating in the elections, whether as a voter or a candidate.
Regarding citizens in the Gaza Strip and Jerusalem, the committee stressed that their right to run and vote is preserved, and does not require registration in the voters' register, confirming that it will announce later the mechanisms and procedures for their participation in the electoral process.
