Netanyahu's Advisor: We Are Not Obliged by the Lebanese Part of the Islamabad Agreement

SadaNews: The American Axios website reported that an advisor to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that Israel does not consider itself bound by the part related to Lebanon in the memorandum of understanding.

He added that Netanyahu informed U.S. President Donald Trump that Israel would not withdraw from southern Lebanon unless Hezbollah's weapons were dismantled.

One of the clauses of the memorandum of understanding states: "The two parties and their allies in the current war, under the signing of this memorandum of understanding, announce the immediate and permanent cessation of all military operations on all fronts, including Lebanon. The two parties pledge not to engage in any war or military operation against each other, to refrain from threatening the use of force or resorting to it against the other party, and to respect Lebanon's territorial integrity and sovereignty. The final agreement confirms the permanent end of the war on all fronts, including Lebanon, and includes the other provisions contained in this clause."

This morning, the Israeli occupation army announced the death of an Israeli soldier and the injury of 7 others from an explosion of an explosive device in southern Lebanon.
