Hamas: We Reached Broad Agreements in Cairo

SadaNews - Hamas spokesman Hazem Qassem stated on Wednesday that his movement continues today its meetings in Cairo with mediators and representatives from the Peace Council and Nikolai Mladenov to complete discussions on establishing a framework for implementing the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip.

Qassem added in a press statement: We reached broad agreements during discussions with the mediators yesterday, and we hope they will be reflected in today's meetings.

He continued: We are working on developing a comprehensive strategy that ensures the implementation of what remains of the first phase and a real transition into the second phase.

He noted: There was significant convergence during yesterday’s discussions to ensure the implementation of the remaining aspects of the first phase alongside discussions of files related to the second phase.

He pointed out that the discussion included the entry of the National Committee into the Gaza Strip, international forces, and addressing the Palestinian arms file within a logical and reasonable approach that would be acceptable to all parties.

The Hamas spokesman stated: The movement is opening the door to reaching these agreements through the flexibility and positivity it shows in dealing with various issues.

He added: The interest of our Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip remains the fundamental determinant through stopping the genocide, providing real relief, and starting the reconstruction process.
