Palestinian Presidency Warns of the Dangers of Smotrich's Announcement to Cancel Hebron Agreements

SadaNews - The Palestinian presidency warned of the dangers posed by a step announced by a minister in the right-wing occupation government, who declared the cancellation of the Hebron agreements concerning the Ibrahimi Mosque area, and the withdrawal of the special authorities from the Hebron municipality. It considered that this step affects the political and legal status of the city of Hebron, as well as the bilateral agreements signed regarding it.

The presidency affirmed that these unilateral steps are rejected, condemned, and violate the agreements signed with the Israeli side, as well as international legitimacy and international law, which prevent any alteration of the existing situation in the land of the State of Palestine under occupation.

The presidency called on the international community, especially the American administration, to intervene immediately and compel the occupation authorities to cancel this extremely dangerous step, which undermines the political process and the two-state solution, as well as the efforts of international powers aimed at achieving security and stability in the region and providing a suitable atmosphere to push forward the realization of the two states on the 1967 borders.
