Anticipation for a Negotiation Round Between Israel and Lebanon, Aoun Insistent on Rejecting Meeting with Netanyahu
SadaNews Translation - The Hebrew channel Reshet Kan reported on Monday night that the U.S. administration is conducting discussions and negotiations to coordinate another round of negotiations between Israel and Lebanon next week at the ambassador level.
According to the channel, as SadaNews translated, the dates for the talks have not been set yet, at a time when the ceasefire is expected to end in about ten days.
Meanwhile, the Lebanese channel Al-Jadeed mentioned that the possibility of a meeting between Lebanese President Joseph Aoun and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is currently difficult due to potential repercussions that extend beyond Lebanon to the Arab stance.
According to the channel, warnings are renewed daily from Arab diplomacy, especially regarding the negotiation file and the prospect of shaking hands with Netanyahu.
It noted that the official Lebanon has not been informed about the date of the third round of negotiations in Washington.
It mentioned that it is likely that Ambassador Simon Karam will not be present at the upcoming meeting, which is dedicated solely to continuing discussions on a serious ceasefire, followed by the commencement of negotiations where Karam will have a prominent role.
