Trump: We Studied Iran's Recent Proposal and It Is Unacceptable
SadaNews - Today, Sunday, U.S. President Donald Trump revealed that Washington has examined Iran's recently amended proposal, which was presented days ago through the Pakistani mediator, and it is not good for his country.
Trump said in an interview with the Israeli broadcasting agency that "negotiations with Iran are stalled and the latest proposal is unacceptable."
For its part, Iran announced that the United States responded to its 14-point proposal through Pakistan, and it is currently reviewing the response.
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Ismail Baqai stated that "there are no nuclear negotiations at this stage," according to official media.
"The military option is closer"
In addition, Axios reported from sources that "the Iranian proposal is far from the U.S. minimum."
Sources added that "the chances of a breakthrough in negotiations are zero, and the military option is closer."
Meanwhile, Israeli media reported sources saying that "there are targets we have not attacked in the war, and we are preparing to complete the mission."
Media also reported the unloading of weapons and ammunition at Ben Gurion Airport over the past 24 hours.
Pakistan's mediation continues
This comes as Pakistan continues its efforts since early April 2026 to bridge the viewpoints between Washington and Tehran, and to reduce gaps, in a mission that still faces many difficulties.
In the first week of April, a first round of direct U.S.-Iranian negotiations was held in Islamabad, lasting more than 19 hours, but it did not lead to an agreement between the two sides.
This prompted Trump later, despite a ceasefire agreement that started on the eighth of the same month at that time, to impose a choking maritime blockade on Iranian ports starting April 13, which is still ongoing, in order to increase pressure on Tehran.
Meanwhile, the Iranian negotiating delegation presented a new proposal to the U.S. side through Pakistan last Thursday, which stated that the war should stop first, then the U.S. maritime blockade should be lifted and the Strait of Hormuz, which has practically been closed due to Iranian threats since the first day of the war outbreak on February 28, should be opened. However, the Iranians proposed to postpone discussions on the nuclear file until after agreement on these issues.
Trump revealed yesterday, Saturday, that he is reviewing the Iranian proposal. However, he later excluded in a post on "Truth Social" accepting the proposal.
