Young man killed in Ain al-Asad shooting in the Galilee

SadaNews - Young man Emil Hani Hussein was shot dead last night, Wednesday, after being targeted while inside a vehicle in the town of Ain al-Asad, resulting in serious injuries that claimed his life on the spot.

According to local sources, the victim was a resident of the town and was struck by penetrating wounds due to the shooting while he was inside his vehicle.

Ambulance crews reported that they received a notification regarding a person injured in the town, and when they arrived at the scene, they found him unconscious and suffering from serious injuries.

The medical teams stated that they pronounced the victim dead at the scene.

One of the paramedics said: "We saw the injured person inside the vehicle; he was unconscious and had serious penetrating injuries to his body. We conducted medical examinations, but his injuries were severe."

He added, "We had no option but to declare his death. "

In a statement issued, the police stated that they had opened an investigation into the circumstances of the shooting, suggesting that the motive could be criminal, and mentioned that they were beginning to search for suspects.

88 victims since the beginning of the year

This comes amidst a continuous rise in murder crimes within the Arab community, with increasing accusations against the police of failing to confront organized crime, as the number of victims escalates and safety levels noticeably decline.

This incident occurred less than 24 hours after a double murder in the town of Yirka, where young man Odi Farraj Shaaban (24 years old) from Majd al-Krum and his fiancée, Suwar Abbas (21 years old) from Baqa al-Gharbiyye, fell victim to shooting aimed at their vehicle.

Details of the crime suggest that armed individuals blocked the path of the victims' vehicle before one of them opened fire on it, leading to Shaaban's death, while his fiancée attempted to escape towards a nearby field before being shot, and she was found about 200 meters from the vehicle.

Data shows that the death toll from murder crimes in the Arab community has reached 88 since the beginning of the year, with about 85 killed by gunfire, in addition to stabbing crimes, while one person was burned to death inside a vehicle.

The number of victims under the age of 30 is about 45, including 8 women, in addition to 3 killed by police gunfire (not included in the crime death toll), indicating a widening circle of violence and an expanding range of targeted groups.

During the same period last year, the number of victims was 77, reflecting a 21% increase amid the ongoing rise in crime rates within the Arab community.

These statistics come against a backdrop of continuous accusations against the police for failing to confront organized crime within the Arab community, as only a limited number of murder case files have been solved, amid a rising number of victims.

Data indicates a lack of serious measures to deter criminals and curb the spread of weapons, which reinforces a state of insecurity and solidifies a reality of escalating violence, with repeated calls for accountability of those responsible and concrete actions to protect citizens.
