Prime Minister Directs to Deduct Vehicle Licensing Fees and Personal Licenses for Public Employees in 2026 from Their Entitlements

SadaNews - Prime Minister Dr. Mohammad Mustafa opened the weekly session of the Cabinet today, Wednesday, reviewing the latest developments on the international scene, particularly his participation in the meetings of the international coalition to implement the two-state solution and the donors' meetings in Brussels, alongside a series of bilateral meetings he held with several European and international officials to rally more international positions and movements supporting our people, rejecting any unilateral and illegal measures imposed by the occupation on the ground, and mobilizing financial support that contributes to achieving security and economic stability.

In a related context, the Cabinet condemned the ongoing targeting of civilians in the Gaza Strip by occupation forces, the disruption of relief efforts, and the restriction of the movement of goods and products, alongside the escalation of attacks by terrorist settler militias on Palestinian villages and gatherings, the latest being the repeated assaults on the town of al-Mughayer yesterday, which resulted in the martyrdom of a young man and a boy who was not yet fourteen years old, in continuation of terrorist assaults that claimed the life of his father seven years ago.

The council renewed its call for the international community to assume its legal and moral responsibilities and to take effective measures to stop the crimes of the settlers, which occur in the absence of accountability, under the protection of the occupation forces, and with public incitement from extremist forces within the Israeli government.

The Cabinet warned the occupying authority, as the occupying power, against the dangers of continuing its unilateral policies and measures, which are escalating while the international community is preoccupied with crises and regional wars, stressing that these practices, whether military or through economic pressure and blockade, do not contribute to enhancing security or stability for any party, and that the Palestinian government, under the directives of the President, continues its efforts and programs to reinforce the resilience of citizens and provide whatever services it can.

The council emphasized that international legitimacy and historical justice will remain biased towards the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people, foremost among which is their right to establish their independent, sovereign state on their territory occupied in 1967. Warning that the ongoing disregard by the occupation for international positions and condemnations will only deepen the circle of tension and violence and undermine the chances of achieving a just and lasting peace in the region.

Additionally, the Prime Minister directed that vehicle licensing fees and personal licenses for public employees in 2026 be deducted from their entitlements, and that the Ministries of Finance, Planning, and Transportation issue the necessary arrangements for this as soon as the technical and administrative arrangements are completed. He also instructed to study further measures to alleviate the burden on citizens and our people in light of the current circumstances.

In another context, the Cabinet approved the memorandum of understanding between the Palestinian Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy and its Saudi counterpart in the field of communications and information technology. The memorandum represents a fundamental starting point for major cooperation projects between Palestine and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, particularly in the fields of digital transformation, developing digital infrastructure, building digital capabilities, exchanging experiences in digital governance, and enhancing digital skills and talents.

Amid the rapid developments in implementing the government's digital transformation initiative, the council also approved the licensing system and fees for trust service providers, which includes electronic signature, secure access to websites, and providing electronic seals and digital certification services, after discussing it through three readings and in consultation and dialogue with various relevant and partnering entities from different sectors.

Moreover, the Cabinet approved the executive regulation exempting vehicles for people with disabilities from customs duties and taxes, which will lead to an expansion of the beneficiary category fairly and within specified financial ceilings and under oversight mechanisms that ensure the proper use of the exemption.
