After a Bloody Day in Lebanon.. Hezbollah Returns to Combat and Launches Rockets

SadaNews - After a bloody day in Lebanon, Hezbollah launched its first batches of rockets towards Israel, in the first attack it has carried out since the announcement of the ceasefire agreement between the United States and Iran.

Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth reported early Thursday morning that a rocket launched from Lebanese territory towards the Upper Galilee region in northern Israel was intercepted.

The Israeli Home Front announced that sirens were activated in Mnavra and Margaliot near the Lebanese border, amid fears of debris falling in the targeted areas.

Israeli Channel 15 reported that rockets were fired from Lebanon towards northern Israel, following about 9 hours of calm on the northern front.

Hezbollah did not delay in claiming responsibility for this attack, as it announced in an official statement its responsibility for launching the rockets, marking the first attack it has launched since the ceasefire agreement between the United States and Iran.

The party explained that "Islamic resistance fighters targeted the Mnavra settlement with a rocket barrage at 02:30 (Thursday at dawn)."

Hezbollah confirmed that this attack came "in response to the enemy's violation of the ceasefire agreement," referring to the dozens of violent Israeli airstrikes on Lebanon on Wednesday, warning that "this response will continue until the Israeli-American aggression against our country and people stops."

Israel had significantly intensified its airstrikes on Lebanon on Wednesday, announcing the targeting of about 100 sites in just 10 minutes, in an attack that resulted in dozens of martyrs and hundreds of wounded.

This escalation comes as Iran, Pakistan, and Lebanese Speaker of the House Nabih Berri announced that Lebanon is included in the truce between Washington and Tehran announced on Wednesday. However, the Israeli army stated that Lebanon is not included and continued its aggression after the ceasefire began, while Hezbollah had earlier confirmed that "the blood of the martyrs will not go to waste, and the massacres affirm our natural and legal right to resist the occupation."
