The Council of Ministers Calls for a Broader and Urgent International Movement to Cancel the Knesset's Decision on Executing Prisoners

SadaNews: The Council of Ministers has directed various competent authorities, especially the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, towards a broader and urgent international movement to pressure for the cancellation of the Knesset's decision to execute prisoners, due to its implication of providing a legislative cover for murder and entrenching the policy of field executions.

During its weekly session today, Tuesday, the council emphasized that this law reflects systematic policies based on genocide, discrimination, and impunity against the Palestinian people in various occupied territories. It affirmed that this step will not bring security or peace, but rather reveals the dominance of the extreme right over Israeli decisions and legislation, in blatant disregard for international humanitarian law and the Geneva Conventions. It called for an urgent Arab, international, and Islamic movement to hold the responsible parties accountable, impose deterrent sanctions, and ensure the protection of Palestinian prisoners, stressing that the measures of occupation will not undermine the resilience of our people and their struggle for freedom and independence.

On the occasion of Land Day, the Council of Ministers reiterated its commitment to legitimate national rights, foremost of which is the right to freedom, self-determination, and return, carrying the message of truth and justice in the face of settlement and land control schemes.

In this context, the Council of Ministers, under the directives of Mr. President, instructed to intensify international diplomatic efforts regarding the escalating violations of the occupation in the Gaza Strip, the West Bank, and Jerusalem, including the continued closure of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque and the prevention of worshippers, the extension of its military aggression in the Jenin and Tulkarem camps, the establishment of checkpoints, and the execution of wide incursions, especially as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs continues to hold briefing meetings with representatives of countries and international organizations as well as foreign media. It also warned of the dangers of the decision to return settlers to the Jenin Governorate and the escalation of assaults in the Jordan Valley and various regions and villages. The council condemned the field execution of two Palestinian youths in Tulkarem and Hebron, warning of the gravity of these criminal violations.

Additionally, the council listened to a briefing from the head of the Land Authority regarding the progress of land settlement and approved the recommendations of the national team regarding settlement works in Area C, expediting and facilitating them for citizens, and utilizing technology in land surveying to protect and affirm Palestinian ownership.

The Council of Ministers also discussed in the first reading the draft law on the delegation of state lands to regulate their use and benefit, especially in targeted areas, noting that the approval of this system will contribute to its governance and regulate any transgressions in the management of state lands. In this same context, the council listened to a briefing on the developments of the committee tasked by Mr. President to tackle encroachments on land in the Jericho area and to protect state property from such encroachments.

The Council of Ministers also approved the industrial licensing system to contribute to the regulation of this sector and achieve industrial development, encourage investment in industrial activities, organize the work of the one-stop shop, and facilitate the granting of permits, approvals, and industrial licenses.

It also discussed in the second reading the draft law on the right to access information with the presence of the head of the Anti-Corruption Commission in light of reviewing the comments received on the draft law, which will be considered before presenting it for the final reading and referring it to Mr. President for approval, as considering these comments has contributed to elevating the draft to advanced ranks.

The council also approved the recommendations of the committee for renting buses and planes for the transportation of Palestine’s pilgrims, and the recommendations of the housing rental committee, to provide the best services for the comfort of pilgrims.

Furthermore, work continues on organizing employee work hours through government department heads based on the Cabinet decision issued in this regard on 17.7.2025.
