Israel Informs Washington of Its Rejection to Fund the 'Peace Council' Established by Trump
SadaNews - Israeli radio revealed, citing a senior government official, that Israel has informed the administration of U.S. President Donald Trump that it will not provide funds for the council established under the name "Peace Council."
The Hebrew channel "Kan" confirmed that the Israeli message clarified its refusal to contribute financially to the operation of the council.
This position comes at a time when Washington had asked its allies, including Israel, to provide financial support to cover the expenses of the new council that Trump envisioned as a platform for managing peace files in the region.
Israeli sources indicate that the U.S. administration was counting on financial participation from allied countries to solidify the council and give it international momentum, yet the Israeli stance reflects reservations about its operational mechanism and goals. It is also expected that this rejection will spark a discussion within Washington about the feasibility of continuing the council without contributions from key partners.
Conversely, observers believe that the Israeli decision reflects a desire to avoid entering into additional financial commitments, especially in light of domestic priorities and economic pressures. The United States is expected to continue its efforts to persuade other parties to finance the council, although the Israeli position may weaken its chances of success.
