Hebrew Channel: Unprecedented Settlement Agreement Will Change the Face of the West Bank

Translation by SadaNews - Channel 14 reported on Monday evening about a settlement agreement being signed for the first time between the Israeli government and a settlement regional council, rather than a municipality or local authority.

According to the channel, as translated by SadaNews, the agreement which it claimed would change the face of settlement in the West Bank is a comprehensive agreement, attended and signed by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and his Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich, along with the head of the Samaria settlement council Yossi Dagan.

The agreement includes allocating a massive budget exceeding 8.5 billion shekels, with this hefty amount being directed entirely towards settlements in the West Bank, where nearly 1.5 billion shekels will be invested in strategic infrastructure, alongside an additional 7 billion shekels for adjacent infrastructure, the creation of modern public institutions, and integrated old and new projects that will develop the existing urban fabric, as well as building 12,000 new settlement units in addition to allocating thousands of square meters for employment, commerce, and industry, and developing advanced roads and intersections and sewage systems.

Smotrich stated, "The historic signing of the comprehensive agreement for Samaria represents another important step in the settlement revolution that we are leading in Judea and Samaria, along with the organization and establishment of more than 100 new settlements, 160 farms, and the paving of roads... The Eizenkot government is seeking to evacuate the settlements and establish a Palestinian state, and we will not allow that to happen."
