Israeli Airstrikes on Southern Lebanon Under the Pretext of Targeting Hezbollah Infrastructure

SadaNews - The Israeli occupation army announced today, Sunday, that it is conducting air strikes targeting what it described as "infrastructure" belonging to Hezbollah in southern Lebanon, according to a brief statement issued by it, amid reports of intense Israeli air raids. For its part, the National News Agency of Lebanon reported that the Israeli warplanes carried out a series of "intense" airstrikes targeting the Mahmoudiya and Damascus regions in the south of the country. Local sources reported that Israeli warplanes launched a series of air raids targeting the Mahmoudiya area in southern Lebanon, as part of a continuing aerial escalation in the region. The sources added that the airstrikes also hit the Barghoz area in the Hasbaya district, in addition to targeting the heights of Al-Rihan and the outskirts of the town of Jaba’a, without any confirmed details so far regarding the extent of damage or the occurrence of injuries. This escalation comes amidst the ongoing Israeli escalation in Lebanon and the continuous violations of the ceasefire agreement that was reached under American sponsorship with Hezbollah in November 2024.
