Liverpool Defender: Salah Wanted to Destroy the Team and Implement His Agenda.. I Know Him Well
SadaNews - Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher described the actions of Egyptian star Mohamed Salah as "shameful," after the latter made fiery remarks directed at the club and its Dutch coach Arne Slot.
During his talk on the football program aired on "Sky Sports," Carragher, who won the Champions League with Liverpool in 2005, said: "I think what he did after the match was shameful."
He also added, "Some people described it as an emotional outburst... but I don't think so. I believe that every time Mohamed Salah stops in the mixed zone, which he has done only four times in eight years at Liverpool, it is coordinated with his agent to cause as much damage as possible and bolster his personal position." He continued: "He chose this week to do it now, and in my opinion, he waited for a bad result to come. Everyone at the club feels like they are at rock bottom, and he chose that moment to attack the coach and perhaps try to get him removed."
Carragher added: "What he did off the pitch, I believe the club made the right decision by not allowing him to accompany them outside. As for whether he will play again with Liverpool, I don't know."
He continued: "I hope he does, because he is one of the greatest players we have ever had, but if he continues like this, with statements like that, and if he doesn't play, no one knows what will happen."
Salah had accused the Liverpool management of "letting him down," referring to the collapse of his relationship with Slot after remaining on the bench in the last three matches.
In response to his statements, Liverpool excluded the 33-year-old Egyptian striker from the squad heading to Italy to face Inter Milan in the Champions League.
