Israeli Army and Shin Bet Claim to Uncover a Secret Money Exchange Network Run by Hamas in Turkey Under Iranian Guidance
SadaNews - The Israeli army and the Israeli Security Agency ("Shin Bet") claimed on Sunday to have uncovered a "secret" money exchange network run by Hamas in Turkey, under Iranian direction.
The Israeli army stated in a statement issued on Sunday evening that "the army and Shin Bet have uncovered documents belonging to Hamas, showing that Hamas, under the leadership of Iran, manages a network of money exchangers composed of Gazans living in the heart of Turkey, exploiting the financial infrastructure in the country for terrorist purposes," as described.
It added that "the Gazan money exchangers work in full cooperation with the Iranian regime, transferring hundreds of millions of dollars directly to Hamas and its leadership."
It noted that the exchangers "manage a large-scale economic activity in the heart of Turkey, which includes receiving Iranian funds, storing them, and transferring them to Hamas."
The Israeli army accompanied its statement issued by its Arabic spokesperson with a document containing figures that cannot be verified, stating: "We reveal documents related to the network, documenting a small portion of the money transfer operations, with amounts reaching hundreds of thousands of dollars."
In the same statement, it added: "The identities of three individuals, of Gazan origin, who work as money exchangers within the network under Iranian direction in the heart of Turkey, are being revealed."
According to the claim, the exchangers are: "Tamer Hassan, a senior official in the Hamas Ministry of Finance, residing in Turkey, who works directly under Khalil al-Hayya."
In addition to him, the statement mentioned the names of "Khalil Farwana and Farid Abu Dair," stating that they are "money exchangers working within the Hamas network."
The Israeli army mentioned that "Hamas, with the support and encouragement of the Iranian regime... continues its quest to advance plans against the State of Israel and to attempt to rebuild its capabilities, even outside the territories of the Gaza Strip."
