Lebanon: Series of Israeli Airstrikes on the South and Bekaa Valley, One Martyr from Attack on Vehicle

SadaNews - Israeli aircraft carried out a series of airstrikes on mountainous heights in southern Lebanon and the Bekaa region to the east, while a Lebanese man was martyred this morning, Monday, following the targeting of a civilian vehicle by an Israeli drone on the main road of the town of Beisaria in the Saida district, according to Lebanese media reports.

Reports indicated that the drone launched a missile at the vehicle while it was in motion, completely burning it and instantly killing its driver, amidst a state of tension in the area.

Video footage showed the initial moments after the bombardment, where flames erupted from the targeted vehicle amid panic among residents in the area.

Lebanese reports stated that a leader in Hezbollah, Samir Ali Fakih, was martyred this morning as a result of the Israeli air raid targeting the town of Beisaria in southern Lebanon.

This attack comes less than 24 hours after a similar targeting, in which two Lebanese men were martyred on Sunday following the targeting of two Israeli drones at civilian vehicles in southern Lebanon, according to local media.

Sources said one of the drones struck a "pickup" vehicle on the al-Sawwana – Kharbet Selm road, while the other targeted a civilian car in the town of Houmine, resulting in the death of two individuals and the complete burning of both vehicles.

The sources mentioned that the aircraft fired three missiles at the vehicle, leading to its total destruction and the immediate death of its driver, as part of what reports described as a "rising aggression" on the south.

Concurrently, Israeli army forces conducted heavy weapon search operations around the town of Alama al-Shab, while drones were intensely flying over the areas of Tyre and the course of the Litani River, reaching Nabatieh and the Iqlim al-Tuffah.

Lebanese reports also indicated the observation of movements of Israeli vehicles on Saturday evening around a newly established site at Jabal al-Bat near the town of Ayta ash-Shab, coinciding with low-flying drone activities of the "Quadcopter" type.

In connection, the Lebanese Ministry of Health announced that the number of injuries from a previous targeting of an Israeli drone at a vehicle in the city of Bint Jbeil has risen to seven people, amid fears of the escalation of bombardment given the ongoing tensions on the southern border.

This escalation comes amid an increase in the pace of Israeli attacks on southern Lebanese areas in recent days, alongside intense drone activity in the airspace of border villages.

In this context, Lebanese President Joseph Aoun, during his meeting with an American delegation in Beirut, confirmed that "negotiation requires a suitable environment through a cessation of hostilities and achieving stability in the south," emphasizing the importance of diplomatic efforts to contain tensions and prevent situations from spiraling into a wider confrontation.

Israeli reports on Monday indicated that the Israeli army has carried out a series of operations targeting about 350 members and field commanders of Hezbollah since the implementation of the ceasefire agreement on the northern front.

Reports mentioned that the operations included precise strikes by drones and air raids, in addition to intelligence ambushes targeting positions and movements of the party's members near the Lebanese-Israeli border.

This announcement comes amid ongoing tensions between the two sides despite the ceasefire, as Israel and Hezbollah exchange accusations of violating field agreements, amid fears of renewed military confrontations on a larger scale.
