Mai Ezz El-Din Prepares for Ramadan 2026 Drama with "Before and After" Series
SadaNews - The artist Mai Ezz El-Din is preparing to compete in the Ramadan 2026 drama season through the series "Before and After," which is the preliminary title for the script she has contracted for, and filming is expected to begin in the upcoming period.
Mai Ezz El-Din is collaborating with writer Mohamed Suleiman Abdel Malik and director Marcus Adel on the series "Before and After," in which her role is expected to be completely different from her previous works.
Mai Ezz El-Din’s selection for the script came after a period of preparations, with the contract signed three months ago. The script was initially written by Mohamed El-Hanawy, but it was decided that Mohamed Suleiman Abdel Malik would write the final version of the series.
On her part, producer Maha Selim announced the preparation for Mai Ezz El-Din's series for Ramadan 2026 through a post on her official Instagram account, where she wrote: "In the name of God, we rely on God."
So far, the rest of the cast for the series has not been announced, and more details are expected to be revealed in the coming days.
It is noteworthy that Mai Ezz El-Din will be present in Ramadan 2026 after achieving great success last year through the series "Qalbi wa Miftaḥuh," which she starred in alongside artist Asser Yassin and received widespread audience acclaim.
The series consists of 15 episodes and featured a large number of stars, including: "Diab, Aida Riyad, Ashraf Abdel Baki, Ahmed Khaled Saleh, and Sarah Abdel Rahman." It was written by Tamer Mohsen and Maha El-Waziri, and directed by Tamer Mohsen.
In a recent interview on the "Pop Corner" podcast, Mai Ezz El-Din revealed some of her unforgettable memories from the early days of her artistic career, along with some of her personal traits, in addition to her continued strong emotional impact from the passing of her mother.
The artist Mai Ezz El-Din recalled the most notable moments from her early career, revealing the moment she will never forget when she received special praise from the legend Adel Imam after her participation in the series "Liqaa 'ala al-Hawa" in 2004.
She said: "I visited Adel Imam’s house with my mom, and we were warmly welcomed. He told me: You are talented and pay attention to details. This made me incredibly happy."
Mai spoke about her shy nature, pointing out that she feels nervous whenever she receives compliments, adding: "My face turns very red when someone says something nice to me."
She also expressed her great admiration for artist Abla Kamel, affirming that she sees in her a reflection of her calm and shy nature, describing her as: "A great actress with an extraordinary kind heart, who works in silence away from the spotlight."
Mai could not hold back her emotions when talking about her late mother, who passed away last November, explaining that she is still trying to cope with the loss. However, she has regained her artistic activity despite the pain, saying: "I was thinking that God is the one who helps a person, and I don’t want to upset God, so I worked to please Him. May God strengthen me and make me content with everything happening in my life."
