The Arab League on the Anniversary of the Balfour Declaration: Occupation Continues Its Crimes Against the Palestinian People
SadaNews - The General Secretariat of the Arab League stated that the anniversary of the Balfour Declaration this year comes amid the ongoing suffering of the Palestinian people due to the genocidal war waged by Israel in the Gaza Strip, and the violations in the West Bank, including Jerusalem, such as field executions, the arrest of thousands, the demolition of homes, settler terrorism, colonial expansion, resource theft, and the desecration of Christian and Islamic sanctities.
The General Secretariat, in a statement issued by the Palestine and Arab Occupied Territories sector of the Arab League on Sunday, marking the 108th anniversary of the Balfour Declaration, called on the United Kingdom to take all necessary measures to lift the historical injustice faced by the Palestinian people and to exert all forms of pressure on the occupation authorities to halt their violations and crimes against the Palestinian people, and to refrain from providing any assistance to the colonial expansionist system that contributes to the continuation of Israel's illegal occupation of the occupied Palestinian territories.
It welcomed the decision of the United Kingdom to recognize the State of Palestine, based on its commitment to the two-state solution as the only way to achieve security, peace, and stability in the region, in line with international will and relevant international legitimacy resolutions, and considers it a step towards correcting the historical error represented in the infamous "Balfour Declaration."
