Moscow: Israel's Annexation of the West Bank Threatens Stability in the Middle East

SadaNews - Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova stated that Israel's annexation of the West Bank will lead to serious tensions in the Middle East.

Zakharova added in a press statement tonight that the Palestinian issue should only be resolved through political and diplomatic means.

She emphasized the importance of initiating direct negotiations between Palestinians and Israelis to achieve peace in the region.

She further stated: "Any escalation of tensions will undermine international peacekeeping efforts."

She expressed hope that there would not be a final approval of the bill to extend Israeli 'sovereignty' over the West Bank, warning that this would lead to serious tensions in the Middle East.
