Syria: Air Troop Deployment by the Coalition in Deir ez-Zor
SadaNews - The Syrian news channel reported that the international coalition forces conducted an air drop on several homes in the village of Al-Kasr Al-Fokani, northeast of Deir ez-Zor.
It was mentioned that the air drop in Al-Kasr village involved American helicopters, fighter jets, and drones.
The coalition forces have carried out a series of air drops in various areas of Syria in previous months, targeting leaders of the ISIS organization as publicly announced.
A few days ago, the U.S. Central Command announced that it carried out an airstrike in Syria on September 2, which resulted in the death of an individual described as one of the senior planners of attacks in al-Qaeda.
The Central Command stated in a press release that the deceased was Mohammad Abdul Wahab Al-Ahmad and added that he was a member of the Ansar al-Islam group affiliated with al-Qaeda.
Adm. Brad Cooper, the commander of the U.S. Central Command, stated that U.S. forces in the Middle East are working to disrupt and defeat what he described as terrorists in planning, organizing, and executing attacks.
He added that his forces will continue to defend the United States and its allies and partners both in the region and beyond.
In late August, the international coalition forces executed an air drop in the northern neighborhood of Atma in northern Idlib, which enabled them to kill a person believed to be affiliated with the Islamic State.
The individual is known to his neighbors as Ali Aziz, in the town of Atma, where he moved six months ago after his mother rented the house and registered the lease in her name with the property registry. He is said to reside in the house with his wife, child, and mother, according to neighbors.
The coalition forces had carried out a similar air drop in 2022, killing the leader of the Islamic State, Abdullah Qardash, known as Abu Ibrahim Al-Qurashi, in the town of Atma in northern Idlib.
