Elderly Man Dies in Hit-and-Run Incident in Natanya City in Occupied Territory
SadaNews - An elderly man in his seventies was killed early this Sunday in Natanya following a hit-and-run by a vehicle, while a motorcycle driver suffered very serious injuries due to a self-accident in the city of Ramat Gan.
The rescue unit reported that the incident resulted from a collision between the car and the pedestrians, and the man's death was pronounced at the scene due to his critical injuries.
The occupation police claimed that they have opened an investigation into the circumstances of the accident.
In a separate incident, a 26-year-old motorcycle driver was seriously injured on "Yerushalayim" Street in the city of Ramat Gan.
Eyewitnesses explained that the incident was self-inflicted, as the bike slipped during driving, leading to severe injuries.
108 Arab Victims in Road Accidents Since the Beginning of the Year
Data from the Road Safety Authority indicates that 362 people, including 108 Arab citizens, have died in road accidents since the beginning of 2025 to date.
Statistics show a dangerous increase in the number of casualties, reaching 352 fatalities by the end of September, averaging more than 39 deaths per month, just nine fewer than the total casualties of 2023, which makes 2025 a candidate to be the deadliest year in about 18 years.
It is noted that 439 people, including 162 Arab citizens, were killed in road accidents during the past year of 2024, while 361 people, including 98 Arab citizens, died in road accidents during 2023.
In 2022, 352 people died in road accidents, and in 2021, 369 people lost their lives, compared to 306 victims in 2020 and 355 in 2019.
As for victims in the Arab community, 115 Arab citizens died in road accidents in 2022, 109 in 2021, 99 in 2020, and 110 in 2019.
