SadaNews - The head of the Khan Younis municipality in southern Gaza, Alaa Al-Batta, stated that 85% of the governorate has been destroyed due to the Israeli aggression that lasted for two years.
He added during a press conference today, Saturday, that the aggression has left behind 400,000 tons of rubble that must be removed from the city's streets, stressing the urgent need for modern machinery to handle the debris.
He indicated that there are 300 kilometers of water networks in the city that are destroyed, alongside massive damage to 75% of the sewage network.
He noted the need to manage more than 350,000 tons of waste in the city, mentioning that there are nine teams working to clear the roads and that we need diesel fuel to complete the task.
The mayor highlighted the need for generators to replace the destroyed and worn-out ones.
