"Hamas": Egypt to Host Palestinian Conference on the Future of Gaza

SadaNews - A leader in "Hamas" told the French Press Agency today (Saturday) that Egypt will host a conference for Palestinian factions to determine the future of the Gaza Strip after the war, following the movement's agreement to release all Israeli hostages under Donald Trump's ceasefire plan.

The leader confirmed that Egypt "will soon begin preparations and invitations to host and sponsor a comprehensive Palestinian-Palestinian dialogue on Palestinian unity and the future of Gaza, including managing the Gaza Strip through a committee or independent body composed of independent competencies to temporarily manage the sector until power is unified across all Palestinian territories."

On Friday, the "Hamas" movement announced that it had delivered its response to the Trump plan to the mediators, which includes its agreement to hand over Israeli prisoners and transfer the management of the sector to a Palestinian body of independents.

Hamas spokesperson Taher al-Nounou told the French Press Agency earlier that "President Trump's statements calling for an immediate halt to the Israeli bombardment in the Gaza Strip are encouraging, and (Hamas) is ready to begin negotiations immediately to complete the prisoner exchange process, stop the war, and withdraw the Israeli occupation from the Gaza Strip."

Trump stated on his social media platform "Truth Social" on Friday: "Based on the statement issued by (Hamas), I believe they are ready for a lasting peace. Israel must stop bombing Gaza immediately so that we can safely and swiftly bring out the hostages! It is very dangerous to do so at this time.” Trump added that discussions are currently underway to finalize the details of the Gaza plan.

He continued: "We are already discussing details that need to be agreed upon. It’s not just about Gaza; it’s about the long-awaited peace in the Middle East."
