Palestinian Journalists Syndicate Warns Against Any Assault Planned by Occupation Forces on Journalists Present on the Global Resilience Fleet

SadaNews - The Palestinian Journalists Syndicate has called on the United Nations and UNESCO to provide urgent international protection for journalists aboard the fleet that includes dozens of journalists on ships heading to Gaza, where many journalists and media professionals from various parts of the world are working on a humanitarian and media mission to document the suffering of the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip. It stated that this cowardly assault on the fleet, its storming, and the threats to the lives of journalists and all those present on it, including media elites, reflects a blatant violation of the rules of international law, press freedom, and human rights. It is also a clear attempt to brutally assault freedom of expression and media coverage, directly endangering the lives of journalists, and constitutes a complete war crime against journalists. The Palestinian Journalists Syndicate added that it is monitoring developments around the clock and calls on all journalistic syndicates, international human rights organizations, and media outlets to follow the expected developments in the coming hours, cover the crime of storming the ships of the Global Resilience Fleet, and expose the crimes of the occupation. The syndicate believes that the arrest of journalists or assaults on them is part of a systematic plan of crimes against journalists, and under the occupation's decision to prevent international journalists from media coverage of the genocide being committed by the occupation against our Palestinian people. The Palestinian Journalists Syndicate affirmed its full solidarity with all journalists and demands that the international community and human rights and humanitarian organizations, as well as UNESCO, take immediate action to stop this violation and ensure the protection of journalists while they fulfill their noble mission.
