Occupation Withdraws from the Village of al-Mughayer After 70 Hours of Destruction and Arrests
SadaNews - Israeli occupation forces withdrew this morning from inside the village of al-Mughayer, northeast of Ramallah, after a wide-scale incursion that lasted for more than 70 hours, leaving extensive destruction to the agricultural and residential infrastructure of the village. Despite the withdrawal from inside the village, military vehicles and bulldozers continue to operate in its vicinity, amid the ongoing siege imposed on the residents.
During the days of the incursion, the occupation forces carried out systematic land leveling operations on agricultural lands, uprooting thousands of fruit trees, some of which are hundreds of years old, and raided dozens of homes, rummaging through their contents, in a scene described by villagers as "retaliatory and destructive".
The village also witnessed a widespread arrest campaign, targeting dozens of residents, including the head of the village council, Amin Abu Aliya, who was arrested on Saturday evening.
