"We share a common conviction".. Macron after a phone call with the King of Jordan and the President of Egypt

SadaNews - French President Emmanuel Macron stated in a statement following a phone call with King Abdullah II of Jordan and President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi of Egypt that they "share a common conviction." He continued: "The military attack that Israel is planning on Gaza will only lead to a real disaster for both peoples and will drag the region into a permanent war." He added: "We believe that the next process alone is sufficient to end this war, which is: establishing a permanent ceasefire in Gaza, releasing all hostages, delivering massive humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza, disarming Hamas, and strengthening the Palestinian Authority in Gaza." He further stated: "To achieve this, we will need, along with Egypt, Jordan, and all our regional and international partners, to: implement an international mission to stabilize Gaza, and work on finding a political solution that meets the aspirations of both peoples, the Israeli and the Palestinian." He indicated that France will participate in co-chairing the two-state solution conference with Saudi Arabia in September in New York to promote this pathway. For his part, the King of Jordan emphasized the "necessity to intensify efforts to achieve a ceasefire in Gaza and to de-escalate in the West Bank." He stressed the "importance of the flow of humanitarian and relief aid in sufficient quantities to all areas of Gaza," referring to the ongoing cooperation between Jordan and France to intensify humanitarian responses in the region. He pointed out that "the only way to achieve just and comprehensive peace in the region is through the two-state solution." Meanwhile, El-Sisi affirmed Egypt's position rejecting any attempts to displace the Palestinian people from their land or to infringe upon their legitimate rights, foremost of which is the establishment of their independent state.
