The Ministry of Economy and the Monetary Authority Hold a Specialized Course on E-commerce and Electronic Payment

SadaNews - The Ministry of National Economy, in cooperation with the Monetary Authority, held a specialized training course on e-commerce and electronic payment, with the participation of a number of employees from the relevant departments in the ministry. The Assistant Undersecretary for Trade and Market Regulation, Mr. Tarek Al-Masri, confirmed that this course is part of the ministry's programs aimed at increasing the efficiency of technical and administrative staff and enhancing employees' readiness to deal with the e-commerce system and the requirements of digital transformation, ensuring the effective application of modern legislation and regulations, and contributing to the development of electronic services provided to citizens and the business sector. For his part, the head of the Financial Inclusion Department at the Monetary Authority, Mr. Mohanned Slaous, highlighted the importance of the course in enhancing awareness of the legal and regulatory framework for e-commerce, raising the readiness of relevant parties to deal with the systems and procedures associated with it, and promoting the integration of e-commerce with electronic payment services in support of financial inclusion. The course addressed several topics, notably reviewing Law No. (21) of the year 2025 regarding e-commerce, including definitions, objectives, and scope of application, as well as explaining the e-commerce register system and its operational mechanisms, the operational structure of the e-commerce platform, and the procedures for registering online stores and linking them to commercial names and registered companies, in addition to practical sessions that dealt with real case analyses and simulations of actual requests and challenges related to practical application. The course also covered the latest electronic payment systems and digital solutions launched by the Monetary Authority, including the instant payment system iBuraq, the E-SADAD bill display and payment platform, and the SADAD GATE electronic payment gateway, which allows companies and institutions to receive payments electronically with ease, security, and no fees, thereby contributing to supporting e-commerce and enhancing the use of digital payment methods in Palestine.
