Casualties in Expanded American Attacks in Iran as the Country Bombards Gulf States and Jordan

SadaNews - The authorities in Hormozgan province in southern Iran announced today, Saturday, that American strikes resulted in the death of three people and injury of eight others, according to the official Iranian news agency "IRNA".

IRNA reported in a post on Telegram that a local official stated that "three people were martyred and eight others injured due to hostile attacks on some parts of Hormozgan province on Saturday morning."

This comes as the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) announced that the military completed its seventh consecutive night of airstrikes against Iran.

CENTCOM stated via the "X" platform early Saturday that the strikes targeted "observation points, military logistics infrastructure, underground facilities for storing weapons, and naval capabilities."

It added that the U.S. military used fighter jets, drones, warships, along with other military assets.

Additionally, it mentioned that "more than 50,000 U.S. soldiers are operating in various parts of the Middle East, remaining vigilant, lethal, and ready."

Previously, IRNA reported that the American strikes hit the cities of Ahvaz in the southwest, Bandar Abbas, and Qeshm Island overlooking the Strait of Hormuz, as well as Lar and Darab in the south, and Yazd in the center.

Explosions were also heard in Bushehr (southwest) and Sirik (south), with strikes targeting the vicinity of Jask in Hormozgan province (south) and Khorramabad (west), according to Iranian media. A local official revealed that several missiles hit electricity facilities and desalination pumps in Jask.

Moreover, circulated images displayed explosions at the airbase in Lar.

Other circulated photos documented strikes targeting the bridge linking Bandar Abbas to Rudan in southern Iran.

In this context, the Iranian army announced today, Saturday, that it bombed military targets in Kuwait and Jordan in response to the attacks launched by the United States on its territory, according to what was reported by Iranian state television.

The Iranian television reported on Telegram that the Iranian forces targeted an ammunition depot at Al-Adiri base and buildings used for command posts and ammunition storage at Ali Al-Salem base, in addition to several communication bridges. It also stated that the fuel tanks of the U.S. military at Al-Azraq base in Jordan were targeted by drone attacks.

Kuwait announced that its air defenses intercepted hostile drone attacks.

The Kuwaiti army said in a statement on the X platform: "Kuwaiti air defenses are currently intercepting hostile drone attacks as a result of the unjust Iranian aggression. The General Staff of the Army notes that the sounds of explosions, if heard, are due to the interception by air defense systems of hostile attacks. All are advised to adhere to the security and safety instructions issued by the relevant authorities."

Meanwhile, the Bahrain Ministry of Interior announced the activation of the alert system and urged citizens and residents to remain calm and proceed to the nearest safe location and follow news through official channels.

On its part, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard announced an explosion on two oil tankers and a fire aboard them while crossing a route south of the Strait of Hormuz, according to a statement reported by the official Iranian news agency (IRNA), a claim denied by the U.S. military.

The statement reported that "two oil tankers attempting to cross a minefield south of the Strait of Hormuz, having fallen victim to tricks and deception by U.S. intelligence, exploded and caught fire." The statement did not specify the nationality of the two vessels or whether there were any injuries.

It added that "to protect their ships and, more importantly, their lives, sailors should not be deceived and enter the minefield."

The U.S. Central Command, CENTCOM, issued a brief denial, stating via the "X" platform that "like most claims from the Revolutionary Guard, this assertion is false."

In separate statements on Saturday, the Revolutionary Guard also announced that it had "stopped" four vessels attempting to cross the Strait of Hormuz.

It added in a statement conveyed by Iranian state television via Telegram, "In the past few hours, four vessels, in violation of the orders of the Revolutionary Guard and supported by the U.S. enemy forces, attempted to cross the Strait of Hormuz, but a joint operation with missiles and drones halted them in their positions."

Iran seeks to control the vital waterway and has continued to warn oil tankers and cargo ships about the necessity of using routes near its coasts, that is, north of the strait, and to avoid the southern passages which the United States seeks to protect.

In response to Iranian threats to navigation in the strait, the United States has reimposed a maritime blockade on Iranian ports and continues to conduct nighttime airstrikes on targets inside Iran to weaken Tehran's capabilities to monitor and threaten the strait.
