Al-Safadi Responds to Iran: No American Bases in Jordan
SadaNews - Jordan's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs, Ayman Safadi, affirmed that there are no American military bases in Jordan.
Safadi stated during his participation in a seminar in the United States that there are American soldiers in Jordan under a military cooperation agreement between the Kingdom and the United States.
He added that the Iranian narrative claiming the presence of American bases in Jordan, which is used to justify attacks, is "not true". The American soldiers have been in Jordan for a long time as part of the cooperation between the two countries, especially in combating ISIS and under the defense agreement that respects Jordan's sovereignty and the principles of cooperation between the two sides.
He stressed that the attacks on Jordan and Gulf countries are "unacceptable and unjustified" since the Jordanian Kingdom is not part of or a party in this conflict.
He pointed out that no one in the region wants a return to war, and there is no justification for the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.
