America Prepares for Escalation.. Moving Fighter Jets from Europe to the Middle East

According to the newspaper, the U.S. military has expanded the scope of strikes to include more sensitive targets deep within Iran, in parallel with enhancing its aerial presence in the region, while Tehran has intensified its attacks across the Arabian Gulf, raising the likelihood of the current confrontation turning into a broader war. The newspaper also considered that targeting strategic facilities and infrastructure inside Iran, including bridges and targets within Iran itself, aims to increase pressure on Tehran to force it to cease attacks on maritime traffic in the Strait of Hormuz, following the collapse of the agreement that aimed to allow the freedom of navigation in the strait. Furthermore, the newspaper observed that this round of fighting, centered around control of the Strait of Hormuz, portends a spiral of mutual escalation, given that both Washington and Tehran are sticking to their positions with no signs of retreat, while Iran has responded by expanding the scope of its attacks. In parallel, the Iranian Tasnim news agency quoted an Iranian source as saying that the Revolutionary Guard Navy targeted, today, a ship flying the Thai flag after it attempted to cross the Strait of Hormuz without permission. Trump Administration Considering Targeting Nuclear Facilities These developments came simultaneously with what Axios revealed that President Donald Trump's administration is considering expanding military operations against Iran, which includes the possibility of carrying out new strikes targeting nuclear facilities, in addition to expanding the target bank within Iranian territory. The site also cited three American and Israeli officials stating that Washington has informed Israel of sending dozens of refueling aircraft, in preparation for the possibility of expanding military operations if a decision is made. Meanwhile, Israeli reports indicated that the U.S. administration is exploring military options targeting additional sites deep within Iran, including facilities of strategic importance, as part of a potential escalation aimed at increasing pressure on Tehran and reducing its military and nuclear capabilities.
