Officials: At least 13 killed in Russian and Ukrainian attacks

SadaNews - Local officials reported that Russian and Ukrainian attacks on civilian areas in towns and cities, many of which are along the frontline in the ongoing war for over four years, resulted in the deaths of at least 13 people on the night of Thursday to Friday.

Ivan Fedorov, the governor of the Zaporizhia region, stated via the Telegram app that a targeted Russian missile attack on the city of Zaporizhia in southeastern Ukraine killed three people and injured 15. Footage aired by Reuters showed firefighters extinguishing remnants of fires and teams searching through the rubble of destroyed buildings in the city, which has faced intense attacks in recent weeks.

Russian missiles struck the port of Odessa on the Black Sea, another location repeatedly targeted by Moscow, resulting in the death of two people and injuries to six others, along with damage to civilian infrastructure.

Outside the city of Kharkiv, near the Russian border, emergency services reported that a drone attack by Russian forces resulted in one death.

Earlier that day, a drone attack near the city of Kupiansk, further east, led to the deaths of three individuals.

In the Donetsk region, where most fighting centers along the 1,200-kilometer frontline, the regional governor stated that one person was killed and five others were injured near Kramatorsk, one of the "fortified cities" where Ukraine has bolstered its defenses.

On the other side of the border, officials in Russia's Belgorod region reported that one person was killed when Ukrainian forces shelled a town near the border.

Dennis Pushilin, whom Moscow appointed as head of the Russia-controlled areas in Donetsk, reported that one person was killed in an area under the control of Russian forces.
