Al-Habarih and Al-Farayeh Agree on Joint Field Follow-up to Improve Travel Movement via King Hussein Bridge

SadaNews - Palestinian Minister of Interior Major General Ziad Al-Habarih met today, Monday, with his Jordanian counterpart, Minister Mr. Mazen Al-Farayeh, in the Jordanian capital, Amman, to discuss ways to enhance bilateral cooperation, particularly regarding facilitating travel and movement across the border between the two countries, and improving services provided to travelers.

Minister Al-Habarih was accompanied in the meeting by Major General Allam Al-Saqa, Director General of the Palestinian Police, Major General Akram Thawabteh, Director General of the Civil Defense, Mr. Amin Qandil, Director General of the Crossings and Borders Authority, and Brigadier Dr. Mahmoud Salah Al-Din, Director General of International Cooperation at the Ministry of Interior.

During the meeting, Minister Al-Habarih praised Jordan's firm and supportive positions for the rights of the Palestinian people, commending the continuous efforts made by the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to address the challenges associated with travel across the bridge, which reflects the Jordanian official interest in this vital file and its keenness to alleviate the suffering of travelers.

The Minister confirmed the continuation of efforts and joint action with various relevant parties to increase working hours at the crossing and increase the number of travelers allowed to cross, in line with the growing demand for travel and to improve the level of services provided to them.

The two sides agreed to continue coordination and mutual cooperation, and to hold a second field meeting at the King Hussein Bridge next Thursday, with the aim of monitoring the situation on the ground, evaluating the measures taken, and working to enhance the smooth flow of movement and facilitate citizens' mobility across the bridge.

In this context, Minister Al-Habarih held a meeting upon his arrival in Jordan with the entities and departments operating at the King Hussein Bridge, during which the reality of fieldwork and the procedures and facilities provided to remove the causes of field suffering were reviewed, within the framework of ongoing efforts to improve travel conditions, including improving waiting conditions and organizing the movement and its flow.
