Official Israeli Warning: The Eastern Border Represents a Serious Threat That Must Be Protected

Translation by SadaNews - The Director General of the Israeli Ministry of Defense, Amir Baram, warned on Thursday evening about the serious situation along the eastern border with Jordan.

Baram stated during a strategic workshop attended by senior officials from government ministries, as well as Israeli military entities, that the eastern region is currently the most sensitive area from a security perspective.

He pointed out that militias in Iraq and the Houthis in Yemen pose a complete threat—even if they are far away, they have the capability to infiltrate deep into Israel. He also stated, as translated by SadaNews.

Baram, who was formerly the Deputy Chief of Staff of the Israeli army, added: "Hamas is not the Hamas we know, Hezbollah is not the same as we know, and Syria is not what we knew... As for the ability to access by land and penetrate Israeli territory again, the militias in Iraq and the Houthis in Yemen represent a real threat, even if they are far away."

He emphasized the necessity of strengthening security along the eastern border despite the barrier that has been built and the deployment of the Israeli army, considering that it is not sufficient.
