Details of the Border Attack Attempt.. Israeli Doubts on Establishing the Equation of 'North Against Beirut'

Translation by SadaNews - Senior Israeli officials expressed doubts on Tuesday evening about the political level's success in establishing the equation of "north against Beirut".

According to those sources, as reported by Channel 12 and translated by SadaNews, since yesterday, Israel has created a new equation with Hezbollah, with the approval of U.S. President Donald Trump. However, the sources indicated that there are no directives of this kind yet and that no agreements have been made during internal discussions.

It was pointed out that during the Cabinet session on Monday, Israeli Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir said that Iran was the one who fired the last shot in words and actions, and that Israel cannot allow itself to be shot at with limited response.

Zamir criticized the agreement with Iran, which affected Lebanon, noting that it significantly impacts operations on the Lebanon front.

Meanwhile, Channel 13 reported that Transportation Minister Miri Regev criticized Trump's stance during the Cabinet session, saying he does not accept attacking Iran while simultaneously keeping refueling planes at Ben Gurion Airport.

According to the same channel, the security establishment and the Israeli army expressed their disappointment regarding the manner in which the recent rounds of strikes on Iran ended and emphasized that, from their perspective, the campaign is not over yet. SadaNews also translated this.

The Israeli army confirmed that it does not mind launching a strong attack on the southern suburb if needed, even at the cost of a round with Iran.

It noted that there is a noticeable positive progress in negotiations between Lebanon and Israel.

For its part, Reshet Kan reported details about the incident at the Lebanese border, stating that the incident occurred after an armed infiltration into Israeli territory, specifically north of the Margalit settlement.

It was clarified that the armed individual was hiding inside an abandoned Israeli army guard post and was neutralized by gunfire from soldiers after being inadvertently recognized.

It turned out that shortly before the incident, Israeli army forces jumped to the scene in response to a report of a fire in the grass in the area, and during the search operations, one of the soldiers inadvertently recognized the armed individual as he was running towards the abandoned site, reported that he recognized him, and then he and other soldiers from the Seventh Brigade fired on him and neutralized him.

The armed individual was wearing camouflage gear belonging to Hezbollah and was carrying a pistol and a knife, and according to estimates, he intended to infiltrate one of the Israeli settlements.
