Jerusalem District Water Authority Discusses Its Future Strategy and Confirms Commitment to Alleviate Citizens' Burdens and Improve Services

SadaNews - In a spirit of teamwork and institutional work, the first annual conference for the employees of the Jerusalem District Water Authority was held last Thursday, April 30, 2026, at the Red Crescent building in Al-Bireh, with wide participation from the authority's staff and leadership.

During the opening of the conference, General Director Engineer Thaer Jaloud emphasized the importance of collective efforts and enhancing teamwork, which contributes to the continued advancement of the authority and the development of its services, ensuring the best level of service for all subscribers, despite current challenges.

Jaloud reviewed the main achievements accomplished in recent months, foremost among them being the closure of the settlement file, in addition to highlighting the main challenges facing the authority's work amid the existing economic conditions and operational pressures.

The conference featured a key discussion on the authority's work strategy for the upcoming stage, focusing on ways to alleviate citizens' suffering, particularly by facilitating payment, installment, and settlement procedures, and correcting the financial and administrative statuses of subscribers, ensuring service fairness and ease of access.

Challenges regarding the summer season were also addressed, where participants discussed the anticipated water crisis and possible solutions to mitigate its impact on citizens, alongside emphasizing the importance of prompt response to complaints and enhancing communication and follow-up channels.

In related remarks, the head of the workers' union in the authority, Suleiman Malasa, affirmed the importance of solidarity and working as a unified team, praising the efforts of all personnel working in the authority and confirming that the authority will remain the national stronghold ensuring the continued provision of water services in all concession areas, despite increasing challenges.

The conference also discussed future work plans aimed at improving service efficiency and sustainability in the water sector, thus enhancing the authority’s capacity to respond to citizens' needs and providing more effective and quality service.

The meeting represented an important milestone in establishing a strategic planning approach and enhancing internal coordination, positively reflecting on improving the level of services provided to citizens.
