Election Committee: 69 Monitoring Bodies and 113 Accredited Media Institutions for Local Elections

SadaNews - The Central Election Commission announced the closing of the approval process for monitoring bodies and observers to oversee the local elections, as well as the closure of the approval process for journalists and media institutions to cover the elections scheduled to be held on Saturday, April 25th in 183 local bodies.

The committee stated that the number of accredited local monitoring institutions reached 69, which have registered 2533 male and female observers, in addition to 125 international guests and observers.

Regarding the media, the committee clarified that it has accredited 113 media institutions, including 14 international institutions, and registered 740 journalists, both within these institutions and independently.

The committee added that it has published on its website all the information and figures of interest to journalists and observers, including the names and locations of the bodies where the elections will take place.

The committee confirmed that it continues to work systematically to complete all final arrangements for the local elections, indicating that 491 polling stations will be opened on Saturday morning, including 12 stations in Deir al-Balah.

The local elections will take place next Saturday, and according to the committee, the number of those eligible to vote in the bodies where the elections will be held exceeds one million voters, as per the voter registry.
