European Diplomatic Missions Condemn Rising Violence Against Palestinians in the West Bank
SadaNews - Various European diplomatic missions condemned the increasing violence by settlers and Israeli forces against Palestinians in the West Bank on Saturday.
This came in a joint statement from the diplomatic missions in Jerusalem and Ramallah, which included (Belgium, Canada, Denmark, the European Union, Ireland, Finland, France, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain, the United Kingdom, Sweden, Switzerland).
The statement, as translated by SadaNews, expressed deep shock at the killings of Palestinians over the past weeks.
It added that this violence perpetrated by settler militias, aimed at seizing land and creating a coercive environment that forces Palestinians to leave their homes, must stop.
The Israeli authorities were urged to prevent and prosecute lethal acts of violence, incursions, and attacks. Israel, as the occupying power, has an obligation to protect Palestinian communities.
