Switzerland Suspends Arms Exports to the U.S. Due to the Iran War
SadaNews - Switzerland announced today, Friday, that it will not issue export licenses for companies to export weapons to the United States due to the ongoing attacks on Iran, emphasizing its neutrality.
The government stated in a release, "The export of military equipment to countries engaged in armed international conflict with Iran cannot be permitted throughout the duration of the conflict."
It added, "Currently, the export of military equipment to the United States cannot be permitted."
The Swiss government did not specify the nature of the weapons or military equipment that has been prohibited from export to the United States, nor did it mention whether there are existing U.S. contracts for Swiss military equipment.
Switzerland had previously made decisions not to export weapons to Ukraine and not to re-export tanks to the European country involved in conflict with Russia.
